Rondeau Elias "Ron" Saffee, 86, of Fort Gratiot, died Saturday, June 17, 2017.

He was born June 25, 1930 in Jefferson City, Missouri, to the late Samuel and Sadie Saffee. He moved to Port Huron in 1947 and graduated from St. Stephen's High School in 1948. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1948 to 1952 and attended Port Huron Business College from 1952 to 1956.

Ron worked with his father at Saffee's Coffee Ranch, took over the business and renamed it Saffee's Restaurant, and operated it until it was sold in 1984. He became a landlord in 1986 and a founding and charter member of the Port Huron Area Landlord Association. He joined the Real Estate Masters team in 1988, retiring in November 2014.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Kathie J. Saffee; five children, Sherie (Kendall) Wright, Richard (Christal) Saffee, Tamera (Mark) Westbrook, Gregory (Jill) Saffee and Brian Saffee; grandchildren, Danielle VanTiem, Raylene, Nichole and Dillion Westbrook, Stephen (Bonnie) Wright, Matthew, Sarah and Claire Saffee; great grandchildren, Ty VanTiem and Wyatt Wright; siblings, Lorraine Mercurio, Marguerite Shamaly, Jouliette Erickson, Rosalie Tracy, Bonnie Jowett and Stephen Saffee; father-in-law, Orville Krafft, mother-in-law, Marie Heering; sisters-in-law, Karen (Gary) Wesch, Sharon Davidson, Jacqueline Krafft and Shelley (Jon) Zauner; brother-in-law, Thomas Jowett; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Marie Saffee; great granddaughter, Paisley Lynn Wright; brothers-in-law, Alfonso Mercurio, Erick Erickson and John Tracy; his first wife, Mary Jane Saffee; and his dear friend, Morris Snider.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Mr. Saffee will lie in state from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 26, 2017 in Holy Trinity Parish - St. Stephen Catholic Church. The Rev. Joseph Gagnon will officiate.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Port Huron. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Navy and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
