Leo Jones, 85, of Port Huron Township, died Saturday, January 27, 2018.

He was born November 6, 1932 in Pledger, Texas, the son of Buster and Ora Jones. He married Barbara G. Brown on April 1, 1952 in Port Huron. She preceded him in death on April 11, 2011.

Leo was employed as an inspector at New Haven Foundry.

He was a founding member and longtime Deacon of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, umpired softball and baseball games for 45 years and ran the City Recreation Youth Program for 15 years.

He is survived by three children, Kathy Kennedy, Leo Jones and Tamika Hayes, all of Port Huron; friend and caregiver, Luann Reynders; childhood friend, Betty Jackson; grandchildren, Clovis Bordeaux, Julian (Niki) Kennedy, LaNoe (Shawn) Kennedy, Revon (Alexis) Jones, Devin Jones, Terrill Jones, Courtney (Tim) Tucker, Jennifer (Derrick) Johnson, Michelle Jones, Nariah Meadows, LaJuan Meadows and Parish Meadows; great grandchildren. Mekka Bella, Israel, Amir, Sanaa, Nyla, Abree, Riley, Caleb, Nick, Darrian, Jayla, Jessica, Jordan, Justice and Kalynn; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three children, Larry and Cleve Jones and Loradean Jones; three brothers; and five sisters.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2018 in Mt. Olive Baptist Church. The Reverend Anthony King will officiate.

Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.
