Kay Irene Bland, 78, of Port Huron, died Tuesday, August 1, 2017.

She was born July 21, 1939 in Port Huron to the late Harry E. and Minnie E. Bland and was a lifelong area resident.

Kay volunteered at McLaren Port Huron hospital for over 25 years, logging 6,500 hours. Most recently, she worked in the sewing room, creating puppets and stuffed animals for patients. She was a longtime member of Gratiot Park United Methodist Church. She loved watching baseball, especially her Detroit Tigers.

She is survived by her brother, Ronald (Diana) Bland; two nieces, Anna Marie Mortimore and Nancy Lynn Cox; many cousins; and her extended family at Northport Towers. She was preceded in death by a nephew, Nicholas J. Bland.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2017 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Reverend Penny Nunn will officiate.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Fort Gratiot Township.
