John Alexander Langolf, 89, of Port Huron, died Friday, June 2, 2017.

He was born October 30, 1927 in Port Huron to the late David and Hermaine Langolf. He married Betty "Joann" Noffs on August 27, 1948. She died June 29, 1997. He married Sharon Schuman on August 26, 2000 in Hillside Wesleyan Church, Port Huron.

John graduated from Port Huron High School and then served in the U.S. Army where he graduated from dental technician school in Alexandria, Virginia. He was a firefighter with the City of Port Huron for 25 years before his retirement. He was known at the station as "Huck".

He is survived by his wife, Sharon; four children, Lee (Mary) Langolf of North Carolina, Lana (Steve) Baker of Port Huron, Duncan (Barbara) Langolf of California and Jim (Debby) Langolf of Fort Gratiot; six grandchildren, Andrea (Scott), Aaron (Sandra), Jordan (Cindy), Jessica (Patrick), Christopher, Katie and Nathan; and five great-grandchildren, Jillian, Jonah, Marin, Carter and Brooklyn; sister-in-law, Sally Langolf; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Arthur, Harold, and David Langolf.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 in Mt. Hope Cemetery Chapel. The Reverend Max Amstutz will officiate.

Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.

Memorial contributions may be made to Port of Hope, 731 Griswold, Port Huron, Michigan, The Salvation Army, or any other charity in his memory.
