James Leonard Conrad, 81, of Marysville, went home to be with the Lord on March 14, 2017.

He was born November 8, 1936 in Detroit. He married Georgia Elaine Church on October 27, 1956 in Armada.

In the last 12 years, Jim had a stroke, open heart surgery, and cancer of the lungs. Through it all he was brave, courageous, and an overcomer. Jim had a Bible verse he knew well taught to him by a dear friend, Joyce Benedict, many years ago, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13. Jim and Elaine also shared a special password, "Jesus".

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Georgia; five children, Kim (Roy) Sanchez, Terry (Kim) Munce, Jim Conrad, Sue (John) Thomas, and Carol (Rich) Willett; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a brother, Jerry Conrad; and a "Scottie" dog, Minnie, who was next to him at all times.

Jim's wife and children will honor his wishes to be cremated and no memorial service is planned. The family will gather at home to cry, to laugh, to encourage, and to pray. Please respect their privacy. "He's my hero" "He'll always be my hero".

Memorials may be made to Grace Hospice, Marysville.

Arrangements are by Marysville Funeral Home. To send condolences, visit marysvillefuneralhome.com.
