Helen E. Bergstrom, 93, of Marysville, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 14, 2017 following a courageous battle with dementia.

She was born December 14, 1924 in St. Clair to the late Leon and Charlotte Briggs, the oldest of eight brothers and sisters. She married Edward Bergstrom on September 27, 1946 in Capac. He died November 30, 1991.

Mrs. Bergstrom was a licensed practical nurse with Mercy Hospital. She was a graduate of Marysville High School and a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid. She served as a Girl Scout leader for many years and enjoyed golfing and bowling.

She is survived by six children, Diane (Robert) Hornbostel, Debra (Harold) Rockwell, Rev. William "Bill" (Linda) Bergstrom, Terry Bergstrom, Karen (Hugh "Skip") Webb and Thomas Bergstrom; fifteen grandchildren, Melanie (Jerome) Milne, Kimberly (Matt) Flarski, Matthew Hermon, Cherie (Mark) Westrick, Timothy Rockwell, Becky (Curtis) Furtah, Rev. Jeremy (Jackie) Bergstrom, Sarah Bergstrom, Stephen Webb IV, Michael Webb, Nicholas Webb, Katherine Webb, Chris Webb, Jacob Bergstrom and Brittany Bergstrom; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; two brothers, Bill (Barbara) Briggs and Leon "Bud" (Betty) Briggs; two sisters, Charlotte (Art) Del Vero and Judy Griffith; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, December 30, 2017 in the Marysville Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm. The Reverend John Hitzeroth will officiate.

A memorial service with inurnment will also be held in Riverlawn Cemetery July 21, 2018 at 11:00 am.
