Doris R. Dierks, 94, of Port Huron, passed to her eternal home on Saturday, July 29, 2017, at the Marwood Rehabilitation Unit, after a short illness.

She was born July 27, 1923 in Port Huron to the late Paul and Alma Schroeder. She married Robert E. Dierks on June 21, 1947 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Port Huron. He preceded her in death on October 27, 1987.

Doris was a devout Christian, a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and loved her Lord. She was a graduate of Port Huron Junior College in 1943 and the University of Michigan in 1945, where she earned a Bachelor of music degree.

Doris was the organist and choir director for 40 years at Trinity Lutheran Church, retiring in 1985. She taught piano and organ for credit in Port Huron High School and Port Huron Junior College, and taught many Port Huron children for over 40 years. She was a member of the Michigan Music Teachers Association, National Music Teachers Association, Port Huron Music Teachers Association, American Guild of Organists, and the American Recorder Society.

She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross at Port Huron Hospital for 20 years, a member of the Port Huron Musicale since 1945, and a member of the International Recorder Society, which met every Monday evening for 25 years in the Dierk's home.

She is survived by her children, Elizabeth and William McGregor Jr. and Paul and Grassy Dierks; three grandsons, Michael (Lisbeth) McGregor, Robert (Tracey) McGregor and Stephen (Tara) McGregor; her granddaughter, Katherine Ruth Dierks; her great-grandchildren, Thomas and Cassandra McGregor, Jordan, William and Brynn McGregor, Steeleigh, Braiden and Jersey McGregor; her brother, Donald (Louise) Schroeder; her nieces, Susan (Gary) Volz, Holly (Joe) Ancipink; her nephew, David Schroeder; and many wonderful friends. Her sweet smile will surely be missed by everyone that knew and loved her.

Visitation will be 6 - 8 p.m. Monday at the Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 1, 2017 in Trinity Lutheran Church with visitation one hour prior to the service. The Reverend Dr. Mark Madson will officiate.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Her grandsons and great- grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
