Donna M. Loughren, 94, of Marysville, died Wednesday, July 20, 2016.

She was born November 9, 1921 in Port Huron to the late Thomas and Laura Short. She married her childhood sweetheart, Grant Loughren, on December 15, 1945 in First Presbyterian Church, Port Huron. He died September 18, 2015.

Mrs. Loughren graduated from Port Huron High School and was employed at Michigan Bell as an operator and supervisor. She was executive secretary of the local Northwestern Mutual Insurance office for many years. After World War II, she was a stay at home mom raising her family. She was a member of Marysville United Methodist Church, Marysville United Methodist Women, the Marysville American Legion Auxiliary, dance clubs and served on the Golf Commission at Marysville Golf Course. She was also a member of the Marysville Women's Club Art Division.

She is survived by two children, Laurie (John) Crisenbery and Thomas (Janeen) Loughren; a sister, Shirley (Daniel) Landberg; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and dear caretakers and friends, Karen, Larry, Shelly and Jamie Emery, Stephanie Ayers, Jessica Klaas and Kris Buchheister. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael E. Loughren; and brothers, Richard and Evan Short.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 29, 2016 in Marysville United Methodist Church with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. The Rev. Barbara Welbaum will officiate.

Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville.

Memorial contributions may be made to Marysville United Methodist Church or the Visiting Nurses Association. Arrangements are by the Marysville Funeral Home.
