David Gary Gizar, 77, of Marysville, died Friday, December 9, 2016.

He was born May 12, 1939 in Port Huron to the late Frank and Beatrice Guizar. He married Christine Starkey on March 21, 1963.

David was a service planner with the Detroit Edison Company until his retirement. He served in the U.S. Air Force in Germany. He was also an avid golfer.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Christine; sons, David (Valarie) Gizar and Dan Gizar; grandchildren, Matthew, Benjamin and Owen Gizar; sister, Bonnie Tomlo; mother-in-law, Cornelia Starkey; sister-in-law, Sue (Larry) Heim; brothers-in-law, Dan (Cindy) Starkey and Dick Stevens; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Stevens.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, December 17, 2016 in the Marysville Funeral Home with visitation from 10:00 am until the time of service. The Reverend Dallas Berry will officiate. Military Honors will be provided under the auspices of the U.S. Air Force and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard. A luncheon will be held following the services at Gateway Church, Marysville.

Memorials may be made to United Way of St. Clair County.
