Darwin Lewis Kelch Jr., 49, of Lambertville and formerly of Port Huron, died unexpectedly Saturday, July 15, 2017 of natural causes.

He was born February 22, 1968 in Port Huron to the late Darwin and Sharon Kelch. He married Laura A. Bixler on October 20, 1990 in Marysville. She died April 22, 1994. He married Michelle "Shelli" Bowen on December 2, 2000 in St. Clair and they were married for 16 years but together for 21.

Darwin was a truck driver with Ryder Logistics. He loved sports of all kinds, especially the Tigers and Red Wings, animals, hunting and spending time outdoors. He enjoyed attending his son's sporting events while he was growing up and more recently riding motorcycles together. Many will remember him as being the funniest guy in the world.

He is survived by his wife, Shelli; son, Jacob Kelch (fianc, Ametta Roe); his beloved fur babies, Max and Mazie; brothers, Robert (Angie) Kelch and Mike (Maria) Kelch; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Sandra (William) Sanders, Jean (Dan) Carolan, Jim (Helen) Bixler, Joe (Stacey) Bixler and Ann (Dave) Taylor; mother-in-law, Mary Bixler; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and co-workers. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Flora Bowen.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in Marysville Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 20, 2017 in Marysville Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Max Amstutz will officiate.
