Charles Frederick Winn was born August 12, 1937 on the Winn family centennial farm in Columbus Township and left to be with Jesus from the same farm on Saturday, February 10, 2018.

Charles farmed his entire life beginning with his grandfather, Fred, continuing with his father, Harold, and ending with his daughter, Karyn and her husband, Rod. He married Dorothy Mae Heinrich on September 6, 1958 in Columbus Baptist. They reared, taught, sang, worked and prayed with their five children on the family farm.

He attended the one room "Columbus" school and graduated from Memphis Community Schools in 1955. He went on to complete the MSU Ag Short Course. He was a member of the Army National Guard, attaining the rank of Staff Sargent. Charles was a member and deacon of Columbus Baptist Church, served on the local Child Evangelism Fellowship board for 50 years, and was an active member of the Gideons and St. Clair County Farm Bureau. He was a past member of Youth for Christ, Michigan Milk Producers Association, Dairy Herd Improvement Association, 4-H, and the Memphis School Board.
