Barbara Ruth Lasky, 82, of Naples, Florida, formerly of Marysville and St. Clair, died Thursday, September 14, 2017.

She was born February 10, 1935 in Port Huron to the late Kenneth and Marie James. She married her best friend and confidante, Marvin Lasky on June 9, 1956 in Port Huron. He died November 13, 2013.

Barbara graduated from Port Huron High School in 1953. She was employed for 26 years with Dunn Construction and Engineering as Assistant Controller prior to her retirement.

In the past, Barbara was a very active member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church and the Marysville Golf Club. After moving to St. Clair, to the home her husband built, she became a member of the St. Clair Country Club, 76 Investment Club, Newcomers dinner club and several bridge groups. Upon moving to Naples, Florida, she joined the Shepard of the Glades Lutheran Church, and enjoyed golfing, playing bridge, dominos and Mahjong and spending time with her adored poodle, Felix.

She is survived by two children, Lori (Douglas) Simoes and Douglas James Lasky; a granddaughter, Rachel Marie Simoes; her brother, Gerald (Carol) James; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, JoAnn James.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 18, 2017 in the Marysville Funeral Home, Marysville, Michigan with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend John W Hitzeroth will officiate.

Inurnment will be in Riverlawn Cemetery Columbarium.

Memorials may be made to Shepard of the Glades Lutheran Church, Naples Florida or the Humane Society of your choice.
